This picture was taken just a few weeks back.  We had just purchased these pillows from Crate & Barrel and Sophi took a liking to them immediately.  She started by squeezing herself in between the arm of the couch and the pillow.  My puppy is such a cutie!!

The husband thinks we will have a mutiny on our hands if we ever get rid of these pillows hahaha.  I mean look how sad she is when I pulled the pillow away from her  ….

Happy Friday!

This picture was taken in 2009 when some friends, the husband and I went to Ixtapa, Mexico for vacation.  It was a fantastic trip and the views were beautiful.  I love the way the palm trees are reflected in the pool as the sun was setting.

Check out more pictures from a different Mexico vacation here.

Happy Friday!

A few months ago I was talking to my friends about how much I loved my first visit to Missouri to visit my in-laws.  Long story kind of short … after picking me up from the airport my husband drove us to his parent’s place.  As we took a left and drove down the gravel road to their house, I saw an old school John Deer tracker driving down the road.  I was so excited and couldn’t stop talking about it all weekend.  Of course this was hilarious to my husband and his family, as they see tractors ALL the time!  On Sunday before we left, my mother and father-in-law broke out their tractor and allowed me to drive it.  Check me out!!

Anyways, while telling my friends this story I started talking about how I need to experience more Midwestern things.  It took me very little time to decide I wanted to go to a real live rodeo.  After mentioning the idea of going to a rodeo to my mother-in-law she was on it, sending a list of rodeos this summer.  Soooo back in July I to my very first rodeo!

Northeastern girl goes to the Midwest and channels her inner cowgirl!!!

The rodeo had a lot of great food!  Do you see the sign that says Cheese Cake on a Stick?!?!  I wish I had tried one … maybe next time.

First up was the mutton busting.  Have you heard of this before?  I know I hadn’t.  Check out these super cute little kids hanging onto a sheep for dear life.

It was one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen!  I want my some-day-kids to do mutton busting, but I’m not really sure they have those kind of activities in the DC area. :)  Next favorite thing was the bucking broncos.  These horses were coming off the ground trying to get the cowboys off of them.  It was crazy to watch.

Unfortunately the pictures I took of the bull riding just didn’t come out.   The flash was bouncing off the bar in front of us and I just didn’t get a good shot.  Therefore no good shots to share with you here.  Pout.  Maybe next time I will get a good shot.  Here’s the husband and I enjoying our first married rodeo adventure.  This was taken right before the bull riding started.

At the end of the rodeo they had fireworks and then it was time to head home.

Next time I go to a rodeo a cowgirl hat and boots are a MUST!!!  Have you ever been to a rodeo?

A few weeks ago we went to a friend’s beach themed wedding.  She had EVERY detail covered.  Knowing the amount of time and effort even small details take I can’t even imagine how many hours my friend put into everything for her wedding.

At her bachelorette party she mentioned they were going to have a Photo Booth at the wedding.  I had been to a wedding last year with a photo booth and loved it. At the last wedding I had taken pictures with friends, but by the time the husband and I made it to the booth it was closed.  Total pout! So this time I was determined to get a photo booth picture with my lovely husband.

After quickly locating the photo booth during cocktail hour I noticed a poster board.  On the posterboard there were a few photobooth pictures of my friend and (now) husband from other weddings.  She had the photo booth picture strip size increased and then added some cute text about taking pictures in the booth. I wish I had taken a picture of the poster board to show you exactly what it looked liked.

It took us the first two shots to understand where to look and how the booth worked. You would think two grown adults could successfully take pictures, but I guess we aren’t coordinated enough hahaha.  Here’s how our pictures came out:

See what I mean? The first two we are a little caught off guard.  When we sat down at the table in the reception room we found these cute frames to put our photobooth picture into.

Each frame had a message from the bride and groom.  On the back there was a clear label with our name on it so we knew which frame was ours.Such a cute detail! I just love the message and idea to send each guest home with a frame.  Check it out!

And can you believe it … each one was hand signed by the bride and groom!  I told you this bride had every detail covered! :)

The cost of the frames seem pretty reasonable. I did a little Googling and found a number of places like this one.  There are many places that sell the perfect size frames for photobooth picture strips.

Have you seen this tidbit at a wedding before?

Happy wedding planning!!

I feel like a bad blogger for only posting once last week, but hopefully you will forgive me since I was on VACATION!  The husband and I both turned 30 in February, GULP, and decided the best way to celebrate was a romantic getaway.

We’ve been to Ixtapa, Mexico a couple of times.  This however was our first time alone on vacation in Ixtapa.  We got a lot accomplished on this trip: nice tans, both read the Hunger Games trilogy, relaxed, swam, walked the beach and enjoyed some yummy food and margaritas! As you can see we took the R&R vacation idea very seriously. :)

Here are few of my favorite shots from the week.

Might seem repetitive, however we ate the same lunch every day. Chicken, salsa verde, guac and cheese quesadilla.

Bye bye Mexico!

Back to life and back to reality.  I’m sure glad we got this relaxing vacation in … we have got a lot going on in the next few months!

Happy vacationing!
